TEEN TRUTH: PARENTS mixes revealing animation with moving interviews to illustrate the essential role parents play in a teenager’s life. Featuring interviews from students, parents and psychologists, the film provides critical insight and tips on how to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and cope with the evolving and frequently precarious relationship between parents and teenagers.

David Braham

David Braham

President, Austin AMFT

David Braham is a licensed marriage and family therapist at Sound Mind Austin, his primary clinical focus integrates issues related to peak performance counseling, trauma and healing, gender violence, positive masculinity and fatherhood. He has worked in middle schools, high schools and on college campuses, at residential treatment centers and hospitals, sexual assault advocacy centers and domestic violence shelters – all in an effort to decrease violence while strengthening relationships, and especially, increasing positive masculinity among men.

Clinical Director, Austin Center for Grief & Loss

Brittany Neece is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  She currently serves as the Clinical Director at the Austin Center for Grief & Loss – a professional grief and loss agency that specializes in divorce and co-parenting issues.  Brittany works with clients experiencing significant or traumatic loss, including suicide loss.  She is trained in EMDR and focuses on addressing and treating trauma for individuals and/or families.

Nityda Coleman

Founder, Teen Therapy Austin

Nityda is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in providing trauma therapy and mental health counseling to teens, while offering guidance and support to parents, at her private practice, Teen Therapy Austin. Nityda is also a senior level registered yoga teacher and oftentimes integrates yoga into the talk therapy practice. Nityda facilitates an 8 week trauma support group for teen girls who have survived child sexual abuse, rape and sexual assault. She is passionate about empowering teens to navigate their own healing journeys.

JC Pohl is a producer and speaker who has reached nearly 8 million people with his message of resilience and personal power.

His work with TEEN TRUTH has sent him around the world, inspiring students, educators, and parents to tell their truth, and be the difference. He has keynoted conferences for CADA, TASC, BOOST, NASC, LEAD, NCSA, ACE, Texas School Safety Center, and the PTA.

His RISING UP: Coaching Program has reached students across the country and consists of an SEL curriculum used by school counselors, the Texas Department of State Health Services, 21st Century ACE Centers, and Communities in Schools.

Pohl is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in the state of Texas. Currently, he offers counseling services through his private practice as well as through the Austin Center for Grief and Loss and Austin Divorce Recovery.

Dr. Eric Michael Bryant

Lead Pastor, Gateway South

Dr. Eric Michael Bryant serves with Gateway Church in Austin as Lead Pastor for Gateway South and as part of the teaching team. Known for their mottos: “no perfect people allowed” and “come as you are, but don’t stay that way.”

Eric’s book, Not Like Me: A Field Guide for Influencing a Diverse World, helps Christ-followers overcome the negative Christian stereotype by embracing the people Christians “love to hate.” His newest project is A Fruitful Life: Becoming Who You Were Created to Be.

He is also one of the co-authors of The Uprising Experience, a workbook developed based on Erwin McManus’ book Uprising: A Revolution of the Soul.

Eric lives with his wife, Deborah, his son Caleb and his daughter Trevi near downtown in Austin, TX.
